PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Lakeland Web Co. collects, why, and what your rights are. I keep it short and in plain English.
Lakeland Web Co. is a web design business run by Edward Clark, a sole trader based in Kendal, Cumbria. I'm responsible for any personal information you share with me. You can contact me at hello@lakelandwebco.com.
I'll never sell your information or add you to a mailing list without asking.
I use your information because you've asked me to respond to you or to take steps towards working together (contract), because it's in my legitimate interests to run the business and reply to enquiries, and because I have legal obligations to keep financial records.
I use a small number of trusted services to run the business:
Some of these providers store data outside the UK, such as in the United States. Where that happens, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
If your enquiry doesn't lead to any work, I delete your details within 12 months. If you become a client, I keep invoices and related records for six years, as required for tax purposes.
This website only uses the cookies it needs to work. It doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, I'll update this policy and ask for your permission first.
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how I use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Just email hello@lakelandwebco.com and I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
